Less than two weeks beforeElection Day, the New York City Police Department warned thatpolling sitescould be targets for violent extremists.A law enforcement bulletin obtained by CBS News on Thursday s stanley cup aid racially and ethnically motivated violent extremists and anti-government extremists continue to prioritize the targeting of political rallies, voting sites, poll workers, and election officials. The NYPD said, however, it is not aware of any specific or credible threat to the city s polling sites, political candidates or election workers. The bulletin stated that hostile rhetoric and an abundance of generalized threats from likeminded people in stanley cup chat groups, and other online forums may effectively create echo chambers that circulate and reinforce false narratives and establish a permissive environment for violent action against election-related infrastructure and personnel. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Authorities say a woman swallowed 68 cocaine pellets before flying from Jamaica to Fort Lauderdale in an unsuccessful smuggling scheme.Court documents show 30-year-old Venesya Oldacre was arrested Aug. 31 when she arrived at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Intern adidas og atio adidas originals nal Airport and was interviewed by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents.The Sun Sentinel reports Oldacre told agents she planned to go to a Red Roof Inn in Fort Lau af1 derdale and pass the pellets. Once she delivered the pellets, she was to receive $3,000. Instead she was taken to a hospital where she excreted pellets containing 1.5 pounds of cocaine.
